Volunteers Needed!
What can I do?
Steering Committee - The steering committee will actually make sure the event gets put on.Technical Committees - The technical committees determine what topics are actually presented and will ensure that the presentations are all technically correct and include all the tips and tricks that attendees will need to get their equipment operating. There should be one for each presentation track - Software, Hardware and Operating Practice
Workshop - The workshop is intended to help people get their equipment working. There should be an indoor and an outdoor workshop. I'll need all sorts of volunteers with experience in different aspects available to help people get their equipment working. Skills needed will include:
Note: Volunteering for the workshop doesn't mean that you'll get stuck there for the whole event.
- Hardware (TNCs, radios, computer hardware)
- Software (Asst APRS apps and accessories)
- Soldering (TinyTrackers, data cables, power cables, RF cables)
- GPS configuration (Various models)
- Computer Configuration & Operating Systems
Presentations - The presentations printer will be responsible for getting copies of the presentations printed up. This will be problematic since I have no clue how many we'll need. I figure we'll convert all the files to Acrobat format and put them up on the web site before the event; however, we'll still need paper copies available. Based on the number of presentations, even at two slides per page it may be a pretty bulky document.
